Alaska! It's even prettier than I imagined it! Saturday we traveled our way to Girdwood. There we stayed at the Alyeska Ski Resort to spend the day skiing the mountain. At least I skied, others snowboarded or went hiking. There was 4 inches of fresh snow! Underneath the powder the condition was icy, but the feeling of being on top of the mountain was undescribable! The whole day it snowed, so the mountain view was not very clear unfortunately. However, I will forever be proud to say that I have skied in Alaska, but I definately plan on doing it again! Our group then spent the night at the Resort and attended a Bluegrass Country concert Saturday night and having good company. Originally we were planning to spend Sunday kayaking, but it turned out to be a rainy day and opted out. So I will have to be back to exerience sea kayaking. We traveled back to Anchorage and went to the Anchorage Museum. It was a beautiful museun with Alaskan Historical Artifacts. Very fascinating to learn about the different Alaskan Native Tribes with their intriguing clothing made out of various animal products. At the end of the day, I felt full of knowledge in Alaska's History of their culture, hunting practices, the Pipeline System, their art, and so much more. It is a great way to transition into the rest of the week where we will dive into Alaska's Culture and visiting Villages.
