Yesterday, we had the privilege of touring the Alaska Native Medical Center. Throughout this experience I learned that they focus more on the mind-body-spirit of the individual, so a more holistic approach than what we see in the Lower 48. Within this holistic approach the health care team really does work as a team and health care is less physician oriented that in Minnesota. I loved this concept and it seems as though Alaska has really done a wonderful job in making their healthcare more patient and family oriented.
