On March 3, 2019 we took our first true outing in Anchorage, Alaska! We went to the Chugach National Forest to explore the Winner Creek Trail which lead us to the Girdwood Hand Tram! The hike itself was 5 miles in total through beautiful, snow covered terrain. Upon completion of the hike, we travelled up the Aerial Tram to enjoy a refreshing lunch at the Bore Tide Café - with a breathtaking view!! After lunch, and resting our poor legs, we went to the Seven Glaciers restaurant to try the famous Fizz drink and be inducted into the "Fizz Cult". The Fizz drink is what one would call "Christmas meets Pina Colada" - Andrea. Completing our day, we went back to our home where we all participated in cooking a luxurious dinner of salmon, halibut, and cod with sides of various cooked vegetables, salad, and beef stew (which was brought by local friends of Andrea). We topped off the rich dinner with delicious cake! It was one fun filled adventurous day in Anchorage, Alaska for the whole group!
