Today we woke up early to pack up our house in Anchorage and head 2.5 hours away to Seward. We took the scenic byway which was beautiful. The mountains, the water, and the snow covered trees were a site to see. When we arrived to Seward, we checked out our house rental. It was a beautiful place with a fireplace and an outdoor hot tub. It over looked Resurrection Bay and the mountains. We settled in, prepped dinner, and then walked a couple blocks to the city's center. We shopped at some of the local gift shops and ate at a local restaurant. We ordered their specialty "the butt bucket" (which was a basket full of fresh halibut) along with loaded tater tots and baked potato skins. Everyone also enjoyed an adult beverage. After we ate some appetizers, we walked back to our house to play games while dinner finished cooking. We ate pork loin, mashed potatoes, cooked carrots, and salad. It was a delicious home cooked meal. We sat and talked and enjoyed listening to music. Towards the end of the night, all of us relaxed in the outdoor hot tub while it was snowing!! It was beautiful! It was a great first night in Seward. Everyone was able to enjoy time away from the hospital and soak in the views.
